Gert Steegmans from Team Quick Step did not start the third stage of the Tour de Picardie today, due the fall he suffered yesterday at about 15 kilometers from the finish. Steegmans has gone back to Belgium and this afternoon X-rays taken revealed a fracture to his seventh left rib. Steegmans will have to take a 3 day rest before he can start training again. The 2011 edition of the Paris Roubaix will take place on Sunday on an hard route of 258 km with 51,5 km of cobblestones. Today during the time trial stage that closes out the Driedaagse van De Panne, Niki Terpstra had a crash caused by an unexpected gust of wind that made him lose control of his bike.
